BALTIMORE — The Detroit Lions have signed wide receiver Akira Dobson to a two-year deal worth $2.7 million, according to the team’s release.
Dobson, a former first-round draft pick, has started 13 games in his two-season career with the Lions, including one game with the team in 2018.
He caught nine passes for 135 yards and a touchdown during that span.
Dobbins best season came in 2017, when he caught 41 passes for 953 yards and three touchdowns, including a game-winning touchdown in the Lions season-opening win over the Atlanta Falcons.
The Lions signed him in January of that year, but he struggled in his first two seasons and never really developed into the player he was in 2016.
He also missed time in 2017 due to injury and was cut by the Lions.
The team later cut Dobson in February.
